The rain and thunder
Came
Storming down

Still they kept on rolling
Right through this town
Without a sign
Of slowing down

An endless sea

No promises
No mercy

That rain
That thunder
They say God sent
I wonder if it was hell-bent

It didn’t stop
Until he was gone

And then the gales sang their song

There was nothing left
But raging waves

Nothing left
But faded images

Nothing left of him
But my memory

Once forgotten
Left unspoken
Just what are we?

I ran to him
So fast that day
I ran so hard
Unrelenting wet rocks
Made my legs give way

Blazing red of cinnamon skies
Drained of blood
Of sparkling eyes

Drowned out life
And fairytales

What was lost
That forever sails?

The ravens soared
Across the sky
Over an ice-covered girl
With frozen tears in her eye

Over a beautiful boy
Despite an anguished blue face

Do the coming sands cover an empty case?

Or do goodness and sin
Leave some trace?
